Free Range Ministries is hosting this event for first responders in Marshall County.
WHAT:
4th Annual First Responder 3-Gun Competition
The competition:
The competition is made up of shooters on teams of 3 competitors from Police, Fire, EMS, State Trooper, and Game Warden departments in Marshall County. Each shooter will compete in 3 stages using pistol, rifle, and shotgun. The shooters’ time to complete each stage will be recorded. If a tie for the highest score occurs, the shooter completing the stage or stages in the shortest amount of time will be considered the winner.
Pistol Stage
Shooters will begin the stage with 10 rounds of 9mm and engage 8 targets with a 30 second time limit to complete the stage. There are 4 paper targets between 7 and 10 yards. These targets will be scored 3, 4, or 5 points based on shot placements. There are 4 steel targets: 6” at 10 yards worth 2 points, 6” at 15 yards worth 2 points, 8” at 20 yards worth 3 points, and 8” at 25 yards worth 4 points. Shooters will acquire 2 points for each round remaining after hitting all targets. A total of 35 points are possible at this stage.
Shooter’s Choice Bonus - If any rounds remain after hitting all targets, the shooter can choose to engage a 4” target at 20 yards worth 5 additional points per hit. If missed, the shooter loses the original 2 point bonus for that round. A total of 45 points are possible with Shooter’s Choice Bonus.
Rifle Stage
Shooters will begin the stage with 10 rounds of .223 and engage 8 targets with a 45 second time limit to complete the stage. There are 2 steel torso targets at 50 yards, one with a hostage paddle. These targets will be scored 3 points per hit with a limit of two hits per target. There are 4 steel targets: 6” at 100 yards worth 4 points, 8” at 150 yards worth 4 points, 10” at 200 yards worth 5 points, and 12” at 250 yards worth 6 points. Shooters will acquire 2 points for each round remaining after hitting all targets. A total of 35 points are possible at this stage.
Shooter’s Choice Bonus - If any rounds remain after hitting all targets, the shooter can choose to engage a 6” hostage paddle worth 5 additional points per hit. If missed, the shooter loses the original 2 point bonus for that round. A total of 45 points are possible with Shooter’s Choice Bonus.
Shotgun Stage
Shooters will begin the stage with 10 rounds of 12 gauge and engage 10 clay targets thrown from 3 locations. The clays will be thrown in 5 sets of rapport doubles with each clay hit being worth 3 points. A total of 30 points are possible at this stage.
Shooter’s Choice Bonus - Shooter can choose to have the last 2 sets thrown as a true double. If both targets are hit, the shooter will acquire 5 points for that set. A total of 40 points are possible with Shooter’s Choice Bonus.
Lunch, Door Prizes, Grant, and Awards
During registration, biscuits, coffee, and water will be provided.
After the competition, lunch will be provided for Competitors and Volunteers.
Door Prizes will be given away
A grant will be given to a participating department for training or equipment.

Competition will be held November 2, 2024, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

WHY:
It is the mission of the Free Range Ministries First Responder 3-Gun Competition to say Thank You to first responders and to honor those who serve. We hope to provide a fun, competitive atmosphere where participants can socialize with each other and be challenged while shooting the multi-stage match. We want each first responder to leave the competition with a sense of pride for their part in making our communities safer and to know they are appreciated.
Registration
We are looking forward to the 4th Annual First Responder 3-Gun Competition and the opportunity to say Thank You to those who serve our community. Each competitor must work for a department in Marshall County and complete the registration below. If you have established a team, please list the other individuals on your team (your team members will also need to register). If you are not part of a team we can place you on a team that needs an additional member.
